Saffron Centre for Young Musicians’ symphony orchestra is the Centre’s largest ensemble and is for players of grade 5 and above, providing an opportunity for regular orchestral training at a higher level. It is conducted by Daniel Phillips.

The orchestra performs a wide variety of repertoire, and this year will be playing works by Reich, Marquez, Beethoven, Dvorak as well as some film music.

Britten Sinfonia regularly work side by side with the orchestra, and in April will workshop Gershwin, Beethoven, Price and Howard (with electronics).

If you would like to join our orchestra on a Saturday morning, 11:30–12:30, please email Sophie Stafford at sophie.stafford@essex.gov.uk for more details.
