Safeguarding

Clarinets

Essex Music Service understands the importance of effective safeguarding arrangements in every local area that should be underpinned by two key principles:

  • Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility: for services to be effective each professional and organisation should play their full part
  • A child-centred approach: For services to be effective, they should be based on a clear understanding of the needs and views of children and young people

Essex Music Service ensures that a culture of openness exists within the organisation and with its partners. Essex Music Service enables all staff and those who work with us to make informed and confident decisions regarding safeguarding issues, and takes all concerns and allegations of abuse seriously. Essex Music Service expects everyone (staff, Board, partners, agency staff, volunteers and anyone working on behalf of the Music Service) to have read, understood and adhere to its Safeguarding Policy and related procedures.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is John Hutchings (Music Strategic Lead Officer).
