HARLOW MUSIC SCHOOL
Essex Music Service runs a network of music schools throughout the County where young musicians of any experience can play together in bands, music groups and sing in choirs.
|We currently provide 1-2-1 lessons on piano, violin, guitar, saxophone, clarinet, flute, singing, drums and ukulele
However, if you are interested in learning a different instrument not listed above, please contact us directly as we are able to increase our provision.
Rock/Pop band – 4.15pm – ??pm
This lively and fun band plays jazz, pop and big band music and provides opportunities to have a go at improvising. The band rehearse weekly in a relaxed atmosphere and aim to perform regularly. All instruments welcome from grade 1 to grade 6 and beyond! Both Rob Bishop and David Schooling have been playing in ensembles and live bands since an early age and have many years experience directing both professional and school groups.
Harlow Voice Collective/Choir -4:45pm – xxpm
Two opportunities on the same evening for any vocalist of any age and ability, come on a journey and explore a range of different styles, genres, develop your skills. Participate in a range of performance opportunities.
Music Makers -4:45pm – xxxpm & 5:45pm – xxx0pm
Come on a journey to find out how music is created and develop your knowledge and ability to produce your own pieces of music. Annabel Clapham and Liam Grey will deliver Music holistically to include theory and aural to the younger members of Harlow Music School.
Fusion Band – xxpm – xxxxpm
The Fusion bands is a exploration of many genres of music. For this Term the focus will be on Jazz, Ska and Reggae. Led by Liam Grey – one of our resident drummers.
Steel Pans Group xxxxpm – xxxpm
This group is open to all musicians interested in playing the Steel Pans. This ensemble will run after October Half Term.
Harlow Hot-stompers! – Percussion Group xxxpm – xxxxxxpm
Led by our resident percussionists Rob Bishop and Liam Grey. From beat- box to body percussion to drums…and beyond!
Ukes United – Ukulele group xxxxpm – xxxxpm
Join our popular Ukulele group to experience the joy of a ukulele orchestra playing popular tunes – with a few vocals! This will also be an ongoing song-writing project.
