CHELMSFORD MUSIC SCHOOL
Essex Music Service runs a network of music schools throughout the County where young musicians of any experience can play together in bands, music groups and sing in choirs.
1-2-1 lessons on offer:
Strings, Woodwind, Brass, Guitar, Drums and Voice
Choral Training Programme for talented young singers led by Simon Warne and Toby Parr
This is aimed at keen singers who has some experience singing in choirs and want to advance their choral techniques.
5.00pm – 5.30pm – Sight singing class
5.30pm – 6.00pm – Musicianship for Singers
6.00pm – 7.30pm – Chamber Choir Rehearsal

Music Theory Games -5pm – 5.30pm
Come on journey to find out how music is created and develop your knowledge in a fun way. This is a class for students at a beginner level and is led by Karen Emms
We run additional Theory and Aural group classes throughout the evening for more advanced learner, please enquire for more details.
Ukulele Club 5pm -5.30pm
Join our popular Ukulele club – no prior experience needed. Led by John Thomson
Jazz Group – 5.30pm – 6.00pm
Join our jazz music group to experience playing with others interested in jazz and learn about improvising. Led by Hannah Wainwright
Beat the African Drum – 6pm – 6.30pm
Enjoy trying all types of African drums. Group is led by David Rowland
Rock School 6.30pm – 7.00pm
Join our rock band offering the opportunity to experience the electric atmosphere of playing in a live rock group. Led by David Rowland
Guitar Group 6.30pm – 7.oopm
The guitar group work on a range of styles together and learn ensemble techniques. Led by John Thompson
Music Tech – from 4.30pm
This is an open class where anyone can drop for help with Music tech projects. Led by Andy Heard
Strings galore 7.30pm – 8pm
A group for all string players to experience working together on pieces. Led by Cameron Smith and Charlotte Canale
Essex Youth Flute Choir 4.30pm – 6.00pm (bi-weekly)
This group is open to Flautists who are grade 4-8 standard. They will get the chance to play a wide range of pieces, try piccolo, alto and bass flutes and take part in wider county events. Led by Paula Bobby.
