Essex Music Service runs a network of music schools throughout the County where young musicians of any experience can play together in bands, music groups and sing in choirs.

Brentwood Music School are delighted to have the Essex Youth String Quartet in residence from September 2018.


1-2-1 lessons on offer:

We currently provide 1-2-1 lessons on piano, violin, clarinet, flute, saxophone, trumpet and drums

However, if you are interested in learning a different instrument not listed above, please contact us directly as we are able to increase our provision.

Stomp!  4.30pm – 5pm. Led by David Rowland this lively and group provides opportunities to make music using everyday objects as instruments.

Ukulele group 4.30pm – 5pm. Led by Tina Hathaway gives the chance to learn and play a variety of songs on the Ukulele in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Blues Jam 5pm – 5.30pm. Led by Tina Hathaway offering an introduction to improvise in a fun and carefree way in a  band.

Choir 5.30pm – 6.30pm. Led by Annabel Clapham. Here is a chance to experience the joy of singing in a choir with the possibility of singing solos.

Brass Group 5.30pm – 6pm. Led by David Rowland. Join this group to develop brass ensemble playing in an informal atmosphere.

String Group 5.30pm – 6pm. Led by Sophie Toft. A chance to enjoy ensemble string playing.

Percussion Group 5.30pm – 6pm. Led by Brian Greenaway giving the chance to explore and try out a range of percussion instruments
