We believe in the power of music to improve the lives and wellbeing of all children and young people and that no child or young person should experience barriers to becoming, and progressing as, a young musician.
The aim of the MusicNet East project is to provide all children and young people in Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Essex with inclusive and excellent opportunities to engage with music in all its forms for personal and social wellbeing
MusicNet East is a three-year strategic partnership between Essex Music Education, Hub Cambridgeshire Music and Hertfordshire Music Service and national children’s charity Youth Music to increase access to musicmaking for children in challenging circumstances in these three counties.
We are doing this by:
- Developing and evaluating models of sustainable, child-centred and inclusive music-making, learning and teaching that are available to all schools, communities and services for children and young people through our Music Education Hubs.
- Building a responsive and creative workforce that meets the needs of all children and young people
- Promoting and advocating for the power of music to improve learning and social outcomes for children and young people in challenging circumstances and to deliver long-term benefits to communities
Establishing progression routes for informal learners so that all children and young people can develop as young musicians.
