Through the power of song and connected learning, we aim to give teachers the opportunity to support biodiversity in creative and active ways.

The RSPB and WWF are excited to inform you of a FREE national primary teacher training programme and resource package: MEADOWSONG

Training supports primary teachers (Yr3) to stage a musical performance, plant a mini meadow to help pollinators, and deliver a rich programme of classroom and outdoor learning on this topic in the summer term.

  • FREE one day training workshop for Y3 teachers
  • FREE planning/resources for Science, English, Art, Music and Dance
  • FREE music resourcing including backing tracks for an assembly performance
  • FREE licence to enable the use of the Meadowsong music in participating schools

In addition to the free resources and CPD on Wednesday 18 March, there will be a massed performance of Meadowsong on Wednesday 24 June 2020. On this day, classes will have the opportunity to sing ‘Meadowsong’ with live musicians in the peaceful surroundings of Wat Tyler Country Park. This truly is a unique experience for pupils to learn about nature and take part in an uplifting live performance. The education team at Wat Tyler will also be presenting additional opportunities for schools to opt into.

CPD places are currently limited to one teacher per school. More teachers and associated classes will be more than welcome at the sharing session on 24 June.

This CPD session is free to all DFE funded Essex schools. There will be a fee for schools who do not fit this category.
