The Essex Youth Jazz Sextet recently received much praise for its performance in a Jazz Night  raising funds for the Rotary Club of Chelmsford. The concert took place at Writtle Sports and Social Club.

“Could you please thank Martin and the Sextet members for the wonderful entertainment that they provided at our Jazz Night on Friday 20th April. It was much appreciated by the audience and their endeavours helped us raise a good sum of money towards our charitable funds.

A further thanks must go to yourself (Essex Music Services) and the parents of the Sextet members without whom the event would not have been possible” said Keith Dabbs, Chelmsford Rotary Club.

A wide variety of jazz numbers were played in the two sessions including numbers by Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller.

The sextet provided lively entertainment for the audience who were greatly appreciative of the music and individual contributions of members of the Sextet.

A total of £785.90 was raised from the night towards Rotary charities.
