Three Essex Music Groups will be travelling to Angers in France to present a series of concerts in late July and early August.

Essex Music Services are delighted to be taking on tour 50 talented wind, brass and percussion musicians who make up the Essex Youth Symphonic Wind Orchestra led by Charles Hine.  Players from this orchestra will also perform in Steve Drury’s Essex Youth Brass and the Essex Youth Flute Choir led by Paula Bobby.  All of these music groups will be performing on the tour.

The groups will be performing pieces by great composers including John Williams, Holst, Purcell and Faure plus  popular tunes including Eleanor Rigby (Lennon/McCartney) and Over the Rainbow (Arlen/Harburg).

The groups will be performing in the glorious surrounds of Concert Halls such as Inox salle de spectacle, Langeais and Vallon des Arts salle de spectacle and as part of Les Estivales Festival, Montreuil Bellay.

There is also a chance to hear the post-tour performance on Saturday, 4th August at St Botolph’s Church, Colchester at 7.30pm. Please click here to find out more about this free event
