Essex Youth Brass Ensemble

Essex Youth Brass Ensemble is for all brass band and orchestral brass instruments. Players should be a minimum standard of Grade 4.

The music group play a wide range of styles and composers and performs with the Essex Youth Symphonic Wind Orchestra at various venues across Essex and go on tour biannually.

Players of Grade 5 standard are selected by audition from Essex schools and colleges, and participate in a schedule of rehearsals and concerts.  For applications to apply during the year please see below.

*Selected players also form a Brass Quintet and a French Horn group.

The Essex Youth Brass Groups’s resident director is Steve Drury. He is a professional freelance trumpet player and teacher of Brass. His musical experiences include performing London Brass, the Royal Artillery Staff Band, Black Dyke Mills Band, GUS Band, Sun Life Band, Williams Fairey Bands and with Opera UK.

Date: Monthly on a Sunday

Time: 10.00am-2.00pm

*Please note: 1pm – 2pm invitation only for selected musicians to play in a Brass Quintet and a French Horn Group
